Stoney Pinch Quarry & Earthmoving is a family run and operated company based in Renmark SA. The owners, James and Sheree Chappel purchased the business in 2007 with a couple of trucks a loader and one employee. From those humble beginnings in 2007 through absolute determination and unashamedly hands-on management Stoney Pinch has grown in size and reputation to be one of the leading Quarry and Earthmoving companies in South Australia with several quarries and a modern fleet of earthmoving plant employing over 20 likeminded professionals. This has been achieved by ensuring continuous improvement, impeccable service, combined with premium products and an absolute focus on client satisfaction. Stoney Pinch is focused on environmentally sustainable business practices and has been recognised for its industry leading, best practice rehabilitation.

Stoney Pinch Quarry & Earthmoving run under a third party accredited integrated management system for safety, quality & environmental. This ensures that our customers and clients are not left exposed to unnecessary risk and can be confident that they are working with professional progressive company. MANAGEMENT TEAM

James Chappel – Director / Principal
James is highly regarded as one of the best plant operators in the Riverland with over 20 years’ experience, especially working in remote sites or difficult jobs where a specialist operator is required.

James’s sound knowledge of local soils and quarry materials is essential for quality road construction and earthworks is paramount to his work, standing the test of time.

Having the Managing Director working on every major project ensures that the core values and principles are delivered from the Director down.

Sheree Chappel – Director / Public Relations
Sheree plays the lead role in Marketing, Promotions and Public Relations.

Sheree has a Diploma in Building Construction Management with the option to complete her MBA.

Now with 15 years’ experience with Stoney Pinch Quarry and Earthmoving she has developed a sound knowledge of the Civil Construction Industry.

John Chappel – Business Improvement
John has extensive experience in business administration and management in a wide variety of fields – including farming, grazing, aged care and light engineering. Ten years Manager / Executive Officer of the South Australian Pastoral Board.

John assists the business with mining lease applications and compliance, native title, government relations, finance and banking. John plays a leading role in business improvement, including Aus Industry Business Evaluation and implementation.

Frances Dunhill – finance and administration
Office Administration with 37 years’ experience, including payroll, debtor and creditors and extensive experience with Microsoft software. Frances (known as Frankie) has the experience and desire to assist the company and their associates and employees to succeed, grow and comply with all necessary regulations.

Lara Jones – whs and compliance
WHS and Compliance Officer with over ten years in the quarrying industry including roles in Office management, Logistics and WHS, Lara has her certificate 4 in WHS. She is passionate about keeping everyone safe at work, our on the job and arriving home safe at the end of the day.

Shane Zimmermann – works manager
Shane brings over 20 years’ experience in the Quarry & Earthmoving industry. Supervising projects throughout the Riverland including excavation and construction work, building pads, stormwater sumps and pipework’s. Preparation of quotes and tenders to plan specifications.
